Irkin's Susana
This mosaic was inspired by an original oil painting by Irkin, which I bought in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. A "Susana" is a quilt in the Uzbek language. My mosaic is larger and brighter than the original painting due to the glazes used and the gloss of the tile. In this mosaic, there are approximately 18 colors of grout.
